11 December 1968 -Paul Reaney of Leeds United wins his first England cap when he came on as a substitute in a match against Bulgaria. Owing to the fact that Paul Reaney never publicly acknowledged his mixed race heritage ( unlike for example, Rio Ferdinand who also played for Leeds United, his achievement of being the first Black player to play a full international was never acknowledged and ViV Anderson was stated as the first when he played in October 1978.
